1st Shift -Machine Operator I -Bar Line

 

Position Overview

Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation standards. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to operational procedures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

The following duties are performed regularly to maintain production efficiency:

Sets up machines, loads materials, and monitors performance for efficiency

Follows work orders, quality controls, and sanitation procedures for cleanup and changeovers

Direct/instructs machine line personnel in specific job duties

Perform pre-operational checks to ensure proper machine function

Creates pallet ID labels, verifies all materials/products prior to use, and completes PIT equipment safety checks

Maintains and exceeds production, quality, and safety standards

Cleans machines properly after production runs or changeovers

Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area

Ensures compliance with food safety and quality regulations, including HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements

Documents and maintain preventative controls for food safety and quality

Reports on food safety and quality issues to management immediately

Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and improve processes

Enhances technical and functional competencies through professional development

Adheres to workplace safety policies and procedures

Supports a safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting hazards, and conducting safety observations

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, & Knowledge

Prior manufacturing work experience is a plus.Experience operating industrial trucks is beneficial.Previous machine operator experience is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

Ability to follow verbal and written directions.Basic math skills.Ability to speak, read, and write in English (preferred).Mechanical aptitude.Strong manual dexterity, vision, and mobility.The ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
