The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is the global non-profit association dedicated to educational advancement—alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services—who share the goal of championing education to transform lives and society. To fulfill their missions and to meet both individual and societal needs, colleges, universities and independent schools rely on-and therefore must foster the good will, active involvement, informed advocacy and enduring support of alumni, donors, prospective students, parents, government officials, community leaders, corporate executives, foundation officers and other external constituencies. CASE helps its members build stronger relationships with all of these constituencies in a number of ways.

The New School is pleased to announce that the Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) team will be participating in the 2024 CASE Advancement Internship Program. This is an opportunity for a New School student to gain practical, hands-on experience in the field of nonprofit fundraising and program management in a leading university focused on creativity, innovation, and social justice.
During the eight-week remote internship (June 3 – July 26, 2024), the intern will work up to 35 hrs per week across areas of fundraising, alumni engagement, advancement services, and communications and marketing.
Interns throughout the program will participate in a variety of virtual and in-person networking and professional development opportunities provided by CASE including online resources, a designated CASE book, and a year-long CASE membership.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn from and assist the DAE teams in various projects. DAE teams include Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, Individual Giving, Institutional Giving, Donor Relations, Advancement Services and Special Events. Work with and report to the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Programs team mentor for assignments of writing, research, and reporting; and collaborating with the team on alumni and parent outreach, engagement, and fundraising. Learn basic skills in donor databases, and email marketing tools, and assist with data entry and developing mass emails.

WORK MODEHybrid/Remote – Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
HOURLY RATE$16 per hour

Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be a matriculated undergraduate or graduate student at The New School. Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy.
