3rd Shift Slurry Helper
Job Overview Make batches of wetmix in the liquiverter, using water and powders. Transfer wetmix from liquiverter to slurry holding tank, ensuring the slurry holding tank always has wetmix available for the cooker. Properly scan ingredients to inprocess or blend sheet. Keep the fat table full of melted milk fat from fat totes. Melt fat blocks into the breedo as needed. Stays ahead on job tasks to assure that cooks have wetmix ready to run and don’t run out of cheese. Keep work area neat and disposes of empty powder bags, cardboard, plastic, and any work debris. Practices good housekeeping of work areas, clean up powder spills, and keep floor swept in all slurry areas. Assure that all necessary ingredients are ready and on hand for use. Notify supervisor if any problems occur. Use prescribed tools in the manner in which they were intended. Assist Grinder Operators and Helpers when needed. Clean, organize or performs projects given to them by the Supervisor. Assist with the training of new employees when requested by Supervisor. Fill out all paperwork completely and correctly including name, production line number and products ran.   Fill cooker ingredients to ensure they are properly labeled with ingredient and proper batch numbers and date/time they were filled. Safely operate machinery in close quarters. All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures. All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program. Other responsibilities as assigned. Job Responsibilities Ability to read production schedule and plan and organize workday. Ability to move in a fast-paced environment, repeatedly lifting and moving ingredients. Self-motivated and can work with limited supervision. Ability to operate a handheld computer/scanner. Ability to operate various Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts). Ability to manage time and organize work. Ability to follow instructions and proper work procedures. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and management. Good communication skills: verbal and written. Required Education and Experience Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment. Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices. Ability to read and prepare production reports and comprehend production worksheets. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to communicate with line personnel regarding information contained therein, and regarding quality and safety issues.  Preferred Education and Experience High school diploma or GED. MES experience. SAP experience. Basic computer skills.
