Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accessibility Consultant to join our growing digital accessibility team. This position is located in Zurich, Switzerland helping our customers in Europe. . As an Accessibility Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the digital products and services our customers deliver are inclusive and accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. You will leverage your expertise in web testing, mobile testing, EN 301 549, and WCAG guidelines to provide expert guidance, conduct thorough accessibility evaluations, and collaborate with development teams to implement accessible solutions.
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits and testing of mobile applications (iOS and Android) and web-based digital products against relevant accessibility standards, including WCAG guidelines and EN 301 549.
+ Identify accessibility barriers and provide clear, actionable recommendations for remediation.
+ Perform manual accessibility testing using assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers, voice control).
+ Collaborate closely with designers, developers, and product owners to integrate accessibility best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
+ Provide expert advice and guidance on accessibility requirements and implementation strategies.
+ Create and deliver accessibility training and awareness sessions to internal teams.
+ Stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility standards, guidelines, and technologies.
+ Document and report accessibility testing results clearly and effectively.
+ Contribute to the development and refinement of our accessibility testing methodologies and processes.
Qualifications:
+ Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in digital accessibility testing and consulting.
+ Strong understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.
+ Solid knowledge of the European standard EN 301 549.
+ Demonstrable experience in testing mobile applications (iOS and Android) for accessibility.
+ Hands-on experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies (e.g., VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA, JAWS).
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain 1 technical concepts to both technical and non-technical 2 audiences.
+ Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in German is highly desirable.
Base Salary:
+ $90,000 - $125,000 CHF annual salary
Salary range for this position is included in accordance with current state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, experience, and performance in the role.
