Accountant Sr I (Hybrid Schedule)

This position is responsible for general accounting functions that support the Kinder Morgan Energy Transition Ventures (ETV).  ETV business segment focuses on producing and delivery of landfill derived RNG along with carbon capture and sequestration opportunities to meet today’s energy transition needs.  This position will focus on customer billing, AR collections and various reporting requirements.  We offer a hybrid schedule (Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday remotely).  We also offer a 9/80 Work Schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare and issue accurate, timely customer invoices for various commodities in accordance with the customer agreementCollaborate with the Commercial and Operations group to interpret contractual terms and validate volumetric data for billingIdentify and resolve any discrepancies in billing records in a timely and professional mannerCalculate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and record respective journal entries on as needed basisPerform month-end closing including billing, generating revenue and COGS accruals, and Journal Entry recordingPerform AR and GL transactions interface/upload across all systemsPromptly follow up with customers for timely AR collections and assist with cash application processComplete volumetric and financial reporting to various government authorities and to State Tax authoritiesProduce and distribute broker statements in accordance with the contractual agreementContinuously identify and implement process improvements for billing efficiency and accuracyPerform Balance Sheet reconciliations according to the company policy and timely resolving the reconciling itemsAssist in the billing system migration process, including testing, analysis, and validation of the final output.Maintain SOX compliance and consolidate related documentation.Assist with internal/external audit requests and perform additional Ad Hoc duties as assigned.", "employmentType" : "Full Time", "educationRequirements" : "Bachelors Degree", "experienceRequirements" : "3 - 5 Years", "industry" : [ ], "jobLocation" : [ { "@type" : "Place", "name" : "TX-HOUSTON", "address" : { "@type" : "PostalAddress", "addressLocality" : "HOUSTON", "addressRegion" : "TX", "postalCode" : "77002", "addressCountry" : "USA" } } ], "responsibilities" : "Position Requirements/Education:
