Description Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Our client in Food Distribution located near in San Antonio is searching for a Accounting Clerk for an immediate start.
Job Description: The successful candidate will maintain the general ledger, help with inventory transactions tracking in our accounting system, and backstop monthly accounting period closing.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and upload journal entries
Handle bank transactions, vendor bills, payments, and customer payments received
Organize bank reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, and amortization schedules
Oversee general journal records, ensuring entries are precise and current
Collaborate with operation teams to guarantee proper accounting for inventory.
Help with monthly and annual closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Use various accounting software
Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and financial data
Requirements:
Experience of 3-5 years in a bookkeeper or similar role
Proficiency in General Ledger Maintenance, including a good grasp of debits and credits
Skilled in Accounts Payable and Receivables
Knowledge in making Journal Entries
Familiarity with Bank and Account Reconciliations
Experience in Inventory Accounting/Reconciliation preferred
Proficient in using accounting software, e.g., QuickBooks
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Detail-oriented and able to multitask
