The Prime Accounting team supports Amazon’s Prime subscription businesses, and is responsible for the revenue generated through direct to consumer and B2B sales channels. This position requires a self-starter who will be responsible for supporting new geography expansions and partner launch efforts, in addition to supporting various aspects of our monthly accounting and reporting process. Key job responsibilities
• Responsible for the monthly accounting close including preparing journal entries, analyzing and explaining fluctuations and variances, and providing meaningful financial reporting to management.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional business partners including Finance, Operations, Tax, and Technology teams to maintain flow of communication and support.
• Perform technical accounting research and communicate the application of Amazon Accounting Policy and US GAAP to peers and business partners.
• Analyze current procedures. Recommend, develop, and drive process improvements to achieve efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with technical teams to resolve issues related to unprocessed system transactions.
• Support external audit process and escalates any inefficiency to management
• Assess internal controls, identify gaps in the control process, and design additional controls to solve deficiencies.
• Contribute to manual effort reduction projects.
• Build trust with senior management through effective communication.
