Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our Clients team in Chicago, Illinois. This long-term contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in manufacturing accounting and exceptional communication skills. The role involves overseeing financial processes across multiple plants and ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and analyze large volumes of financial data using advanced Excel skills.
• Oversee month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Supervise and review the work of two accounting staff members to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with teams across various manufacturing plants.
• Participate in year-end inventory counts, which may require travel to multiple plant locations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies while maintaining accurate records.
• Collaborate with plant managers and analysts to address accounting issues and improve processes.
• Support audit activities by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Utilize ERP systems to manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accruals. SAP experience required.
• Provide cost-based financial analysis to support operational decisions.
Requirements
• Proven experience in accounting, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and advanced Excel functions.
• Strong understanding of core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and accruals.
• Experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Ability to manage annual physical inventory counts and related travel requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and manage up when necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
