Accounting Manager/Supervisor
Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting department in Odessa, Texas. This role requires someone who can oversee financial reporting, manage internal controls, and support business operations with insightful financial analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ethical foundation, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Responsibilities: • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with established standards. • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and cross-functional support as needed. • Conduct reconciliations for credit cards, balance sheets, and bank accounts to ensure accuracy. • Manage fixed asset accounting, including cost analysis, inventory valuation, and depreciation schedules. • Collaborate with the VP of Finance to develop budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analyses. • Assist with cash flow forecasting and ensure proper accounting for debt and capital leases. • Coordinate with external auditors and other professionals to ensure compliance during audits and acquisitions. • Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. • Build strong relationships with plant and district managers to improve financial communication and reporting. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proven experience in accounting management or supervision, preferably in a manufacturing environment. • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems such as Great Plains or similar platforms. • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. • Knowledge of tax compliance, including sales and property tax reporting. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform variance and cost analyses. • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative work environment. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high ethical standards.
