Summary:

The Activities Associate is an individual who assists with the daily social, cultural, educational, recreational and spiritual needs of the residents by creating experiences under the direction of the Experience Specialist.

 

Experience/Education Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

License or Certification Requirements:

Current CPR preferredValid Illinois Driver's LicenseProof of good driving record

 

 

Responsibilities:
Accompany residents to outside functions.Actively research material to contribute new ideas for programs and events.All other duties as assigned.Assess resident needs and adapt programs based on the resident's abilities.Assist new residents in adjusting and orientating themselves to the facility.Assist with setting up various programs and events.Assist with training and supervising the volunteers.Complete documentation of participation and progress including assessments, care plans and MDS.Copy and distribute various literature regarding scheduled events.Create one-on-one experiences for the residents of Riverside Senior Life.Decorate the facility seasonally as well as in conjunction with facility events.Drive the residents in the buses to and from events as well as to personal appointments.Encourage resident participation in all programs.Encourage the use of and provide assistance with all aspects of technology/In2L systems to enhance their experience during their stay.Evaluate resident preferences and interests within 72 hours of the resident moving in.Gently help to guide residents' journeys during their stay by facilitating and organizing various programs and personal experiences including therapies, appointments and wellness programs for the residents of Sojourn, inclusive of evening and weekend programs.Facilitate personalized experiences for the residents of Riverside Senior Life.Work with all departments in daily programming and creating experiences for the residents.
