Four years of relevant administrative assistant experience or experience in a related field. Experience in Higher Education is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position Performs advanced and complex administrative support duties for the Office of Student Experience & Retention. Primary Responsibilities Performs administrative support duties for the Associate Vice President of Student Experience & Chief Retention Officer and the Executive Director of Strategic Retention Initiatives. Manages, directs, and implements budget operations for areas under the AVP and Executive Director. Monitors budgets, accounts, and expenditures. Oversees budget change request forms, interdepartmental transfer forms, and assists with annual budget process to ensure compliance with university policy. Handles P-Card purchases and monitors expenses. Prepares pre-approval travel reports and travel requisitions. Collects, reconciles, and maintains complex data. Orders and maintains supply inventory. Serves as liaison and maintains contacts with other University departments, students, faculty, staff, alumni, government officials, and distinguished guests. Designs and prepares financial reports and publications for distribution within the department and division. Interprets policies and explains procedures relating to financial activities performed in the department. Recommends to the supervisor internal policies and procedures, clerical functions, and workflow to ensure effective and efficient operation. Directs assignments of clerical staff, determines work priorities, and evaluates progress and deadlines. Ensures all instructions/guidelines are met for the annual Student Service Fee (SSF) budget request and all SSF requests are turned in to the Student Service Fee Committee Chair. Oversees website. Performs other related duties as assigned. Other Specifications Requires detailed knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Requires thorough knowledge of office systems. Must have the ability to solve operational problems and make suggestions for process improvement. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with administration, faculty, staff, and the public. Strong communication skills, both orally and written.
