SH&E (Safety, Health, Environment) - will be responsible for ensuring safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and practices are developed, implemented, and enforced at QPS, LLC, ensuring regulatory compliance and protection of employees and the environment.  

 

ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) – will help the company maintain a leading edge in the formulation, delivery, and communication of our sustainability strategy. The incumbent will identify, manage and respond to stakeholder expectations for operating a responsible and sustainable business.

The Job

SH&E (Safety, Health, Environment) 

Assists in setting the direction for SH&E across all areas of the business, ensuring programs address applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., (RCRA) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) and align with the QPS Business and SH&E Policies for QPS Holdings, LLC and its subsidiaries.Serves as SH&E regulatory advisor to QPS management and key contact for OSHA, EPA and state level (e.g., DNREC in Delaware), and other SH&E agencies including escort during facility SH&E inspections and audits. Ensures applicable SH&E licenses, certificates and/or reports are completed, kept current and/or submitted as required by applicable regulations (e.g., annual Tier II and Infectious Waste Reports). Works with laboratory management, client companies and others as assigned to oversee/lead the risk assessment process when new hazards are introduced to QPS.  Works with departments in developing, implementing, and overseeing appropriate SH&E programs (e.g., biosafety, chemical hygiene, waste management, radiation safety and general lab safety programs).Reviews existing SH&E policies and procedures and creates, modifies, and improves as required by regulations and/or changes within QPS. Coordinates employee SH&E training as well as annual fire drills and fire department site visits.Organizes and chairs the Monthly Safety Committee meeting, participates in investigation and follow-up of accidents, exposures and near miss incidents, and supports OSHA recordkeeping. Oversees SH&E Inspection Programs, Industrial Hygiene Program, and management of safety data sheets.Assists in the development of annual safety competencies for each lab group. Monitors compliance with safety procedures.Responds to safety and facility related concerns and emergencies.

 

ESG (Environment, Social, Governance)

Identify and work with external consultant to develop a global ESG program, addressing sustainability matters as well as corporate social, environmental, health, and safety responsibility for QPS Holdings, LLC and its subsidiaries.Work with external consultants to develop and strengthen QPS’ climate change policy and coordinate efforts to measure, reduce and mitigate carbon emissions. Develop policies relating to a company’s ethical, sustainable and environmental responsibilities.Provide guidance to management with regard to setting significant carbon reduction targets, in line with the latest climate science, to limit global warming to a manageable level.Monitor sustainability trends and assess the implications to QPS’ global business strategy.Generate sustainability disclosures (including a Payments to Government Report and a Modern Slavery statement).Engage with ESG rating agencies to capture and analyze ratings and feedback.Actively promote social investment initiatives, such as charitable donations, environmental programs, sponsorships and others.Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of sustainability programs.Develop or execute strategies to address issues such as energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, transportation, education, and building design.Develop, or oversee the development of, sustainability evaluation or monitoring systems.Assist in developing sustainability reports, presentations, or proposals for clients, government, public interest, or other groups.Assist in coordinating and facilitating the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan for QPS Holdings, LLC and its subsidiaries.

 

Work Location

This job may be partially home-office based.  Hybrid schedule will be negotiated between employee and department head. (see Telecommuting Policy for full details)

 

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field Demonstrated laboratory safety experience Knowledge of initiatives such as the Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosures, Sustainable Development Goals and the Value Reporting Foundation, a plusKnowledge of ESG ratings and indices, a plusSLS(ASCP) certification preferred (specialist in laboratory safety)
