Aircraft Technician (Airframe & Powerplant)
**Job Description** BAE Systems is pleased to announce an opening for an Aircraft Technician III supporting the aircraft maintenance team in Mojave, CA. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: To perform maintenance on aircraft including troubleshooting all aircraft systems, responsible for making critical decisions regarding aircraft safety in a timely manner, perform all line maintenance functions unsupervised to include preflight, post flight, launch, and recovery of aircraft. Maintenance duties will be conducted on-site in Mojave CA and off-site while deployed CONUS with contracted aircraft. Job Description: Trouble shoot and repair basic aircraft systems. Perform scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance and repair of both mechanical and electrical systems. Provides technical support for engineers working in a research or design/development environment. Performs a variety of non-standardized assignments of moderate complexity. Selects and adapts standard procedures or equipment. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements and guidance from supervisor or other engineering personnel. **\#ASFS** Salary Range: $$65,666-$111,654 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. Other incentives may be available based on position level and/or job specifics. \#ASFS **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and 6 years experience or AA Degree and 4 years experience. Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule while deployed with contracted aircraft up to 25% of the year. Deployments may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week. Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines. Able to determine time, place and sequence of operations or action to be taken. Ability to be subject to both external and internal environmental conditions. Able to change physical work locations based on needs. Must have FAA Airframe and Power Plant License. This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Bachelor s Degree or 8 year(s) related experience Previous Experience on DC-9/ C9 aircraft Previous Experience on corporate type aircraft, preferably Sabreliner.
