Your Opportunity

Our team provides cultural resource services for solar fields, residential developments, wetland restorations, streetcar lines, major urban revitalization projects, pipelines, transmission lines, transportation projects and excavation and investigations of numerous cemeteries. We are seeking as-needed, project-to-project basis field archaeology technicians, based in the Tampa, FL metro area, to work on a mix of local and out of town field projects. 

We offer the opportunity to work and learn in a positive environment with an innovative and experienced team. Preferred candidates will have completed at least a BA in anthropology, archaeology, or a related field, be willing to travel for multi-week rotations in the field and have prior experience with Phase I and Phase II testing. 

Your Key Responsibilities Field duties are primarily Phase I and Phase II testing and Phase III data recovery, or data collection for historic architectural survey Laboratory duties may include artifact processing, classification, and curation, artifact photography, database management, mapping, and report layout Extensive travel may be required for this position with limited advance notice (travel, per diem, and single occupancy hotel provided) Your Capabilities and Credentials Ability to identify in the field precontact and historic artifacts from Southeastern U.S. region Must be physically fit and able to navigate rugged conditions on foot, often in humid conditions, and complete physically demanding tasks Ability to navigate (i.e. orienteering) in remote outdoor conditions with field maps Ability to work on an iPad to collect data and keep track of artifacts and data on a daily basis Valid driver's license with good driving record Education and Experience Bachelor's of Arts preferably in anthropology, archaeology, history or related field Demonstrated experience in a field setting as an archaeologist, surveyor, environmental technician, or other professional role Possess a technical specialty within archaeology/anthropology
