J.P. Morgan Asset Management (“JPMAM”) is a leading investment manager for institutions, financial intermediaries and individual investors worldwide. It offers investment management across all major asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternatives, multi-asset and money market funds. This is an exciting opportunity to join J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s Greater China equity research team at the associate level. The team manages Chinese and regional equity funds, while also contributing investment analysis and ideas to regional and global strategies.

As an Equity Research Associate in Asset Management, you will support various senior analysts in their sector coverage responsibilities as they generate high quality and actionable investment insights. You will also work closely with the Greater China Directors of Research in assessing market fundamentals and the team’s output, as well as assisting in the management of analyst portfolios. The role is intended to be a development position for future senior covering analysts.

Job responsibilities:

Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of industries and companies in support of the research activities of senior analysts. Forecast income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow items for near-term and normalized periods to facilitate valuation analysis. Work closely with Analysts, Portfolio Managers and the Directors of Research to translate research insights into investment decisions. Assist the Directors of Research with recurring and ad-hoc market and portfolio analysis, management of analyst-driven portfolios and in communication with stakeholders.  Communicate and collaborate proactively with the global network of JPMAM Analysts and Portfolio Managers.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

Minimum 2 years of experience in investment analysis (buy or sell side), investment banking, consulting or accounting. No specific industry background is necessary. Highly motivated individuals who are willing to work hard to build up their knowledge base, performance track record and credibility within the team. Demonstrate a strong ability to address risk and be comfortable with risk-taking.  Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin;  Ability to work effectively with colleagues based in around the world.
