Asset & Performance Manager, Germany – Maleic Anhydride

Mackenzie Stuart has partnered with a long-standing, industry-leading, global, specialty chemicals manufacturer in their search for a highly motivated Asset & Performance Manager to support their Maleic Anhydride production processes in Moers, Germany.

Purpose:

To ensure plant performance meets EHS performance, production volume, and cost targets. You will also provide technical support to the manufacturing organization and initiate process improvements. You will work collaboratively with team members from third-party providers and the global Maleic Anhydride Manufacturing Excellence Team. You will work closely with the local operations leader, maintenance, and technology team to meet the requirements. Additionally, you will lead Capex projects in production and represent the Site Manager in their absence.

Responsibilities:

Reporting directly into the Site Manager3-4 direct reportsTechnical support for the production organization to produce the required amount of Maleic Anhydride in Moers at or below the budgeted cost. This role will also work on identifying and implementing process improvement plans that will lead to increased profitability of the Maleic Anhydride business. This includes, for example, capacity expansion, reduction of manufacturing or energy costs, and availability programsSupport for EHS/PSM measures, event investigations, and all other EHS/PSM and operational issues, including the creation, editing, and implementation of safety and risk analysesLeading (Capex/Opex) projects in production to implement improvements to achieve very high EHS/PSM standards, Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), and reduced manufacturing costsCoordination of commissioned project engineers to complete projects according to schedule and budgetSupport for operations management in the implementation organisational requirements in the Maleic Anhydride unit. This aspect of the role includes EHS compliance, operational excellence, cost control, project and T/A planning, continuous KPI development/review, and recurring reporting requirementsAssistance in preparing and executing operating budgets, investment projects, major maintenance shutdowns, and training measures for the production organization.Technical monitoring and control of technical modifications (MoC). Requirements:

A degree in Chemical Engineering with excellent grades and at least 5 years of experience in petrochemical productionHigh social skills and persuasive skills in dealing with service providers and contractorsKnowledge of EHS/PSMExcellent communication and influence skills (both in German and English) at all levels of the organizationAbility to think outside the box and experience in project implementationAdaptable, flexible, and goal-orientedRegular on-site presence is requiredExperience with cost accounting and control systems (SAP) as well as optimization with Six Sigma methodology or process simulation/modeling is an advantage
