Assistant Controller

Seeking a driven hardworking professional to join the accounting team as an Assistant Controller.  The Assistant Controller will be primarily responsible for overseeing month-end closing procedures, creation and review of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, and oversight of various process and system improvements.  The role will also play a key role in the implementation of new accounting standards and the documentation of accounting policies.  The Assistant Controller will be a demonstrated self-starter who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.  Position reports directly to the Controller.

 

Essential Responsibilities

Lead the preparation, completeness, and accuracy of all aspects of the monthly and year-end close processes including status updates with the accounting team and Controller. Manage and lead day to day roles and responsibilities of various members of the accounting team. Oversee creation of consolidated and standalone financial statements monthly and annually in accordance with US GAAP. Analyze comparative Balance Sheet and P&L reports, identifying and documenting variances. Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with detailed review procedures performed over the account analysis. Drive a continuous improvement approach to develop strategies that improve accounting operations efficiencies and effectiveness, including the development and execution of policy, process, and system automations. Assist with completion of financial statement, 401k, FAR and workers compensation audits for the companies.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

8 + years of public experience or corporate accounting experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting CPA preferred, not required Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills, including V-Lookups, Formulas, Pivot Tables Strong organizational and management skills Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and a team player Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment; ability to meet deadlines

Base Salary Range:  $110,000 - $120,000. This salary range is based on what Roux in good faith believes it might pay at the time of posting for this position and for this geographic location.  Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as relevant work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications, skill sets, and internal equity.  In addition, this position is eligible for quarterly performance bonuses based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
