Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), a member of The Ohio Valley Conference and affiliate member of the Mid-American Conference (Men's Wrestling) and sponsor of 16 Division I sports, is seeking applicants for an Assistant Director of Communications/Video and Creative Media.

Description

SIUE Athletics is currently seeking to recruit an Assistant Director of Communications/Video and Creative Media. This role will report to the Director of Athletics Communications and Broadcasting and will be responsible for the creation of video content, digital marketing, and creative service needs for the Athletics Department. 

Additionally, the successful candidate will be tasked with producing live events and development of creative video content that can enhance awareness, attendance, and revenue for the Athletics Department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in video content creation, digital marketing and creative services. 

They should possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively. The Assistant Director of Communications/Video and Creative Media will play a crucial role in building the Athletics Department's reputation and audience by producing high-quality video content and executing live events that engage and excite fans. Duties and Responsibilities: 

Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing and creative services plan in collaboration with the athletics marketing, strategic communications, sponsorships, and development staffs that will increase awareness, drive attendance and revenue, and promote the brand of SIUE Athletics and SIUE, with special emphasis on creative video.   Produce creative video content for the athletic department, including but not limited to highlights, hype videos, interviews, profiles, feature/special interest stories, advertisements, etc.  Content will be distributed via SIUECougars.com, SIUE Athletics social media channels and traditional media outlets. Archive and log video content. Produce fan engagement videos, as well as animated and graphic video content for in-venue videoboards.  Occasionally shoot photos.   Oversight of SIUE's live video production on ESPN+ to include pre-production and/or directing of live streamed events Hire, train and evaluate student video production staff that will be responsible for directing, producing, camera operation, graphics and replay duties in-game. Coordinate internship program that will provide SIUE students with an experiential learning opportunity in development of creative content and digital marketing. Assist in developing and executing the digital and social media strategy for the athletics department and sport programs.  Design branded elements for use in digital mediums Assist in coordination of special events (i.e. fundraising events, Hall of Fame) by providing and/or arranging video support, including, but not limited to, video content for each program/event, interviews, highlights/recaps, etc

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree in film/video production, cinematography, radio and television, documentary film production, photojournalism, communications, graphic design, or a closely related field to the position.  One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in areas including non-linear video editing, motion graphics, video lighting and composition, camera operation, graphics design, audio recording, video production, or a closely related professional area.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere and After Effects Experience with DSLR and video cameras Position requires considerable initiative, creativity, and independence Evidence of strong communication skills Work as a graduate assistant may be considered.
