Responsibilities/Duties Job Duties + Assists Plant Foreman with supervision, scheduling and monitoring all daily plant operations and employees to ensure quality, safe, efficient operations. + Coordinates production needs for internal and external customers. + Monitors quality of work, communicates and records performance, and follows all Superior employment policies, practices and procedures for assigned crew. + Oversees materials and measures inventory at end of each month. + Oversees inspection of materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. + Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards. + Creates and maintains documentation as required by established company standards and procedures. + Ensures all safety procedures are followed, documented, and reported according to company standards and policies. + Communicate any problems with material, equipment, plant, or employees that will result in inefficiencies in production or affect safety to manager immediately. + Assists in the training of plant personnel. + Assist in the operation, set-up, tear-down and movement of portable plant to a new location. + Fills in for all plant positions as needed. + Other duties as assigned. Required Skills Job Requirements + Industry, plant operation or Superior experience required + Supervisory experience preferred. + Knowledge of plant equipment and conveyer systems. + Ability to operate all plant equipment. + Ability to learn existing and new material mixes. + Effective communication skills. + Ability to operate an end loader, crusher, and perform equipment maintenance. + Good eye-hand coordination. + Must have basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, decimals, measurements) + Ability to climb up to 10 flights of stairs to access and monitor processes and equipment. + Must have the ability to work in tight and high spaces. + Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. + Ability to read, follow and interpret safety documents, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. + Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. + Ability to learn to use a computer for record keeping, data entry, correspondence, research and ordering materials. + A good understanding of Superior Paving policies and procedures, to ensure safe operation of the machines and equipment being used. + Ability to work overtime, weekends, and nights as required. + Ability to speak, read and write English. + High School graduate or equivalency preferred. + Valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record.
