To provide ongoing curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation of classroom and clinical instruction participation in student advising and registration for the BS-DNP Program in the School of Health Sciences Nursing Program. Full and active participation in the Department of Nursing committees to assist in the continued evolution of the Department of Nursing is an integral part of the position.

Responsibilities Faculty members are expected to demonstrate the highest level of professional integrity at all times and demonstrate a commitment to professional nursing.Faculty members are expected to have a frequent and active presence on campus be available for counseling and advising students and participate in the activities that promote interaction between student and the academic environment.Faculty members must meet the assigned course load and contact hours (18 per year) assigned by the Chairperson of the Program each semester/year. They are expected to be on campus at least three full days per week.Attendance at faculty meetings college and departmental functions and informational sessions is mandatory.Punctuality and attendance is mandatory to meet all assigned teaching commitments. It is a faculty member’s obligation and responsibility to make up any classes/clinical missed.Faculty members are required to have posted office hours when they can be available for all students if need be. The minimum hours should be at least four hours per week. They should be available for appointments outside their office hours if necessary.A faculty member is responsible for informing their students of mid-term and end-term progress in advisement meetings.Administrative and Clerical Requirements: A course outline (syllabus) for every course must be filed by a faculty member with the Chairperson. It should include detailed objectives main topics of study requirements and assignments test dates and criteria used to evaluate a student’s performance. This should be distributed at the beginning of every semester. Rosters provided by the Office of the Registrar should be carefully reviewed by the faculty member and all discrepancies reported. Faculty members must complete all attendance rosters sent out by the Registrar and verify the attendance of ALL students.A faculty member is responsible for submitting all final grades to the Registrar in a timely manner.Faculty members acting as Course Coordinators for courses that have a clinical laboratory are responsible for the management of that course. They are responsible for the planning of the curriculum development of the syllabus distribution of the syllabus to all clinical instructors the development of tests scheduling of class and clinical sessions correspondence with the clinical instructors and correspondence with the clinical facilities in their courses. They may also have to teach a clinical section if needed.Faculty members are responsible for participating in committees including but not limited to the preparation writing and editing of Accreditation reports candidacy drafts and self study reports to the Accrediting agency and the State.

Employee is responsible for professional development at conferences seminars and meetings. (Touro does reimburse a certain amount every year for continuing education. Refer questions to the Director.)

Occasional evenings for Information SessionsOccasional local travel for training sessions/meetingsOccasional Weekends if assigned a Sunday clinical Qualifications Education/ ExperienceDoctor of Nursing Practice required.

Clinical expertise is demonstrated.

Must hold an unencumbered NY State Professional RN license

Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer or Health Provider

Knowledge/ Skills/AbilitiesDemonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) requiredOverall business acumen, ethical decision making, and relationship management skill preferredFamiliarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, Adobe, & Connect preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook requiredDemonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues requiredThe candidate should be self directed and organized
