Responsibilities The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry is recruiting a medical geneticist to join the Division of Pediatric Genetics which will be expected to have four MD faculty geneticists, 5 genetic counselors, a biochemical nutritionist, a nurse and a social worker. The University of Rochester is a major genetics service provider in upstate New York. Our highly successful and active primary clinical programs include a New York State-designated Clinic of Inborn Metabolic Disorders, a number of General Pediatric Genetics Clinics, an In-patient Pediatric Genetics Consultative Service, as well as a number of collaborative clinical programs such as Ocular Genetics clinic, Craniofacial Team Clinic, a Cardiogenetics Clinic as well as a number of other specialty clinics currently under development. The Division of Pediatric Genetics also collaborates with a number of allied genetics programs in adult medical genetics, neurogenetics, cancer genetics, and prenatal and reproductive genetics. The Division also has robust education programs that caters to a variety of trainees. It also has ongoing research efforts in ocular genetics, nutrition genetics and clinical trials for inborn errors of metabolism. The position will entail an academic appointment at the Senior Instructor, Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level commensurate with experience.
