Assistant Professor-IL-Anatomy

The Department of Anatomy, in the College of Graduate Studies, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will participate in team-taught Gross Anatomy courses with cadaver dissection lab within our graduate, medical and health professions programs. Applicants will be expected to establish an independent research program capable of attracting extramural funding. Current research interests within the department include metabolism, biological anthropology, vertebrate paleontology, regeneration and plasticity, auditory system, myelination and demyelinating diseases.

To be considered for the position:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a field related to anatomical sciences with a commitment to excellence in teaching. Applicants must be able to teach gross anatomy with cadaver dissection lab. Applicants must have at least two years of postdoctoral experience with a record of publications and grant applications in the related field.

Applicants with demonstrated additional teaching expertise in histology or embryology will be given preference. Review of applications will begin April 1, 2024, and close when the position is filled.
