Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to: (1) Teaching graduate courses in all areas of Library Science including the following areas of school librarianship: technology, cataloging, reference, collection development, research, school library programming, and school library administration; (2) Advising and supervising graduate level students; (3) Field supervisor for interns. and (4) Participating in professional program, department, college, and university committees. Experience in teaching courses online is a plus. Candidates will be expected to utilize technology as related to the field. Teaching load is nine credit-hours per semester. Candidates must have a strong commitment to research that leads to refereed publications. Service to the university and the profession is expected. Educational Requirements for the Position Ph.D. in Library Science or Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or a related education field, and a master in Library Science. Experience Required for the Position The candidate must be a certified school librarian and have teacher certification. If candidate is certified in another state the candidate may be asked to seek school librarian certification in Texas.

Candidates should have potential for excellent teaching and research. Appropriate PK-12 teaching and school library experience is required. It is preferred that the candidate have experience working with various populations. Other Requirements for the Position Demonstrate team-oriented approach to work. Capacity to engage with and support learners’ needs in virtual settings. Willingness to engage in promoting academic programs and fostering partnerships to benefit program and students.
