Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Research Coordinator for the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Assistant Research Coordinator assists with several research studies relating to Diabetes and Metabolism. 

Among the key duties of this position are the following: Recruiting, consenting, and retaining study subjects (from diverse ethnicities). Collection of clinical data from subjects and/or medical records. Creation and management of documents for Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and other study related activities.  Handling, processing, and shipping of biospecimens. Manage long-term archiving of biospecimens and correlating metadata. Thorough knowledge of research study, study rationale, and study subjects. May potentially assist with laboratory procedures, such as measuring insulin and c peptide by elisa.  Keeps neat, thorough, and up-to-date records of procedures and analyses, using paper and electronic platforms Timely and accurate entry of data into research databases. Regularly audits database for errors and obtains missing information.  Assists in the establishment of standard operating procedures for lab management and research efforts. Evaluates existing procedures and proposes modifications or changes in order to keep the methodology and procedures current. Comfortable learning new protocols and working with limited supervision and with the utmost research integrity.  Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
