The Arc Wayne of Newark, NY, a Human Services Agency, is seeking to hire a full-time Assistant Residence Supervisor who is an excellent communicator to provide leadership, guidance and training to Direct Support Professionals ( DSP ). Assistant Residence Supervisor Responsibilities: \n\nResponsible for the operation of the residence in the absence of the Residence Supervisor. \nAssists with interviewing of potential employees. \nProvides oversight and direction to residence staff in areas like documentation, record keeping and safety. \nPerforms role of direct care related to service provision, medication administration and\/or supervision, transportation, documentation, incident reporting, and emergency first aid procedures.\nAdvocates for individual choice and quality of care with respect, dignity and privacy. Promotes independence, individuality, inclusion and productivity.\n\n

Assistant Residence Supervisor Minimum Qualifications: \n\nHigh School Diploma or GED and two years' experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.\nCombination of education and experience may be considered.\nMust possess a current, valid New York State driver's license that meets the Agency driver standards.\nMust complete and maintain certifications as designated by the agency including, but not limited to, SCIP-R, First Aid\/CPR, and Medication Administration.\nMust demonstrate proficiency in providing specialized care based on individual needs (i.e. - use of adaptive equipment, ostomy care, etc.).\nAbility to stay calm and level headed under pressure and still perform effectively.\nMust demonstrate sound judgment, sensitivity, objectivity and tact.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to foster teamwork between all members via open communication and sharing of responsibilities.\nBasic computer literacy including use of email, internet and web-based programs.\n\n
Assistant Residence Supervisor Work Schedule: Tuesday through Friday 12 pm-8 pm and Saturday 8 am-4 pm. \n
