JOB TITLE: Assistant Vice President, Design Executive AGENCY: Construction & Development DEPT/DIV: Delivery/ Signals & Train Controls REPORTS TO: Vice President , Design Services WORK LOCATION: 2 Broadway HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 AM to 5:30 AM or as required (7.5HR/DAY) HAY POINTS: 1232 SALARY RANGE: $142,694 to 187,285 DEADLINE: Open Until Filled S ummary Design/Design Compliance Services has technical authority for establishing and auditing design delivery standards for all engineering and architectural disciplines in Construction & Development Delivery. The AVP manages all architectural and engineering design processes within the Delivery Services Office or an Integrated project to conform to professional industry and MTA C&D standards. This position fosters technical skills development and innovation in project management practices to improve capital projects' quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. Responsibilities Oversees entire design/design compliance review team. Fosters a culture of innovation and change in design delivery methods, technologies, and strategy. Provide the Signals & Train Controls with lessons learned and strategies to streamline design reviews and creates training opportunities across integrated project teams. Establishes, monitors, and audits the Design-Builder's design and engineering activities for compliance with the Contract requirements and the Design-Builder's Quality Control Plan. Escalates issues to Vice President Design – Signals & Train Controls & B usiness U nit leadership as they arise amongst technical problems within projects/teams/ third parties. Provides ultimate technical recommendations for any/all escalated items. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field. Must have a minimum of fourteen (14) years of related experience . Must have a minimum of ten (10) years in managing design projects or supervisory roles in a large, multi-faceted organization. Competencies: A l icensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) is required. Significant experience in design project management for major construction projects with highly complex systems preferred. Experience leading and managing contractors, subcontractors, or vendors. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to work in a high-profile, high-pressure environment effectively. Must have focus and ability to deliver on results, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement. Must be a proven leader as a change agent and creative/innovative thinker with the ability to align business goals with solutions to drive process improvements. Must possess excellent team building , listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills. Alternative Delivery experience preferred.
