This Opportunity

WSP is seeking an Assistant Vice President Industrial Hygienist (CIH) with 10 or more years' experience to join our Pacific Northwest Safety and Occupational Health Team.  We offer flexible working arrangements to help with work/life balance and have offices located in Redmond, Seattle, and Tacoma, WA.

Your Impact This opportunity has a Seller/Doer focus. Business development experience and focus can be government and/or private sector. Experience with multiple sectors preferred. Candidate must have experience and knowledge regarding the local client market sectors and have an established client base. Responsible for assisting in sales and marketing efforts of Safety and Occupational Health services to both private and government clients. May be responsible for managing Safety and Occupational Health specialists, assisting in the coordination of group member assignments, and mentoring junior staff. Will be required to conduct technical Safety and Occupational Health related surveys and assessments. Responsible for managing projects, task order contracts and completing projects of moderate size and complexity. Directs and supervises technical assignments (both field & office) for all staff in the Safety and Occupational Health group. Prepare, direct and review technical reports, proposals and cost estimates.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications

BS degree in Safety and Occupational Heath or related science/engineering field Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)  Minimum of 10 years post-education experience in the Safety and Occupational Health field Minimum of 4 years business development experience Staff management and leadership ability Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and proposals Operational knowledge of Safety and Occupational Health monitoring equipment Operational knowledge of computer databases and office programs (e.g., MS SharePoint, MS Excel, MS Word) Candidate must have a collaborative approach, willing to work with other WSP offices to cross-market service lines and work towards larger project opportunities Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Over 5 years of Consulting experience Environmental or Mechanical Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to do so within one year Certified Safety Professional (CSP) MS degree preferred


Compensation and Benefits:

Expected Salary: $115,600 - $165,300
