As the Associate Director of DevOps Platforms in the Enterprise Engineering Enablement organization, you will play a crucial role in enabling Humana software engineers to deliver for our customers.
The ideal candidate for this role will need to have a unique mix of leadership experience, proficiency with DevOps practices, experience with platform engineering, understanding of software delivery, strong public speaking skills, and be exceptional at leading people through change. You will need to be systems thinker as you will have a key leadership role in maturing Humana's value stream delivery platform. You will need to have a delivery oriented mindset as you lead a team of skilled engineers to build a cohesive delivery experience across all tech stacks at Humana. Finally, in this role you will need to be skilled at working across organizational boundaries to be the connective tissue of the engineer experience by collaborating with your peers in DevSecOps, Quality, and Infrastructure Automation organizations.

**Required Qualifications**
+ You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
+ You have 6 or more years of technical and 4+ years of people leadership experience.
+ You are a caring and compassionate leader focused on enabling team members to grow and achieve their best effort in their role on the team.
+ You used to be a software or DevOps engineer but decided to put down your IDE and become an engineering leader instead (double bonus points if you're still able to sling a little code from time to time).
+ You enable a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and team cohesiveness where team members are excited about their work and understand the value that they are bringing to the enterprise.
+ You are able to give meaningful and direct feedback in order to promote team member growth and maturity.

+ You understand the interaction between Agile and DevOps practices and how maturity in both of these areas will ultimately lead to better outcomes for software delivery teams.
+ You have experience with enterprise-grade engineer platforms similar to Azure DevOps Services, GitHub, SonarQube, Artifactory, TFE or their industry standard equivalents.
+ You have experience with cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and emerging DevOps trends like 'GitOps' combined with 'pull' based deployment technologies like Argo and Terraform Enterprise (TFE).
+ You have the ability to work in "the gray" space, making consistent progress towards an outcome that will grow more into focus over time.
+ You care about feedback loops and are able to receive feedback well, leveraging all kinds of feedback (even negative feedback) to improve processes as well as outcomes.
+ You have demonstrated experience leading a team to the deliver software to production by leveraging DevOps practices.
+ You are process oriented and have experience putting in place operational team processes to service the needs of a large internal customer base.
+ You have experience with organizational change management initiatives and are able to engage in authentic conversations with people to lead them towards a successful change outcome.
+ You are a strong communicator, a connector, and enjoy a highly agile work environment.
+ You would enjoy collaborating with your peers and leaders from across the enterprise in order to establish a strong partnership between DevOps
+ You enjoy creating presentations and communicating progress to senior leaders
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ You hold a Master's or Doctorate's degree
+ You are familiar with the DORA metrics, and understand how improving them can help an organization achieve successful DevOps outcomes
+ You have a working knowledge of progressive deployment automation strategies like feature flags, canary, and blue/green deployments
+ You understand how AI is changing the playing field for software engineering roles + processes and have a passion for integrating new capabilities into developer workflows
+ You have experience integrating automated test tools, frameworks, and practices into a development team workflow

**Reporting Information**
+ You'll report to the Director of Enterprise DevOps and Enterprise Engineering Enablement.
+ You'll be part of Enterprise Engineering Services organization, the L3 Engineering organization within Technology Strategy.

**Pay Range**
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$142,300 - $195,700 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
