Associate Manager Catastrophe Modeling

As the associate manager catastrophe (CAT) modeling on the Catastrophe Modeling RD department, you'll provide direction to a team who maintains, monitors, analyzes and reports catastrophe peril, risk, reinsurance, and financial metrics. You'll monitor the use of and execute vendor catastrophe models of perils such as hurricane, wildfire, winter storm, severe convective storms, earthquake, and flooding. In addition, you'll manage a team tasked with owning the SQL exposure data environment for catastrophe modeling purposes, including maintaining and developing data cleaning and storage best practices. You'll provide regular reporting and ad-hoc analysis to various business units including Product Management, RD, Pricing, Claims, and Underwriting. You'll implement and maintain tools including geocoding, geospatial, and data visualization software. You'll train, coach, and mentor team members and collaborate with other managers and analysts.

Remote work allowed.

Must-have qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Finance, Mathematics, Accounting, Economics or Statistics or other related fields of study and a minimum of 3 years prior analyst experience.In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years analyst experience.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

Highly proficient skills using software such as SQL, R, or PythonFamiliarity with geospatial tools and geocoding software such as Tableau, ArcGIS, or SpatialKeyExperience with industry leading catastrophe modeling software such as AIR, KCC, or RMSFamiliarity with reinsurance terminology or prior experience working with reinsurance structure and design as it relates to insuranceExperience coaching and mentoring junior team members

Compensation

$93,200 - $124,300/year depending on position level and experienceGainshare bonus up to 40% (depending on position level) of your eligible earnings based on company performance
