$35.85/hr minimum - $53.77/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

Responsibilities

Job Roles
• Safety
o Manage processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
• Record Keeping
o Maintain all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
• Process Improvement
o Promote a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
o Participate on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
• Role Specific Responsibilities
o Radiation Safety and Compliance:
• Collaborate with the Radiation Safety Officer to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to radiation safety in healthcare.
• Assist in developing and implementing radiation safety policies and procedures.
o Imaging Physics Support:
• Work closely with imaging physicists to optimize and maintain the performance of imaging equipment.
• Assist in quality control and quality assurance measures for imaging modalities.
o Education and Training:
• Provide training to healthcare personnel on radiation safety practices and assist in educating staff on imaging physics principles.
• Support the development of educational materials related to radiation safety and imaging physics.
o Radiation Monitoring and Surveillance:
• Monitor radiation levels within the hospital, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with imaging physicists to address issues related to radiation exposure and imaging quality.
o Quality Assurance:
• Participate in quality assurance audits for both radiation safety and imaging physics.
• Implement corrective actions and improvements based on audit findings.
o Equipment Management:
• Assist in the management and maintenance of radiation-emitting equipment, collaborating with imaging physicists to ensure optimal functionality.
• Contribute to the evaluation and selection of new imaging technologies.
o Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated efforts in radiation safety and imaging physics.
• Communicate effectively with staff, addressing questions and concerns related to radiation safety and imaging.
o Record Keeping and Documentation:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for both radiation safety and imaging physics activities.
• Prepare reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant field (e.g., health physics, medical physics, radiologic technology) or 200 hours of classroom and laboratory training in various topics related to radiation safety
Licenses and Certification
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist (e.g., NMTCB or ARRT-N) or in radiation safety
Experience and Skills
• Technical Experience: Knowledge of imaging and radiation physics principles and practices. Experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on radiation safety and imaging physics.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with programming languages is a plus.
• Experience with data analysis, statistical tools, and technology integration.
• Knowledge of coding, machine learning, and artificial intelligence concepts.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
