VCA San Mateo Animal Hospital is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to complement our talented team in San Mateo, California.

VCA takes pride in expanding the growth and skill set of new veterinarians.  We welcome newly graduated veterinarians (and current veterinary students) to apply to this position where they will receive individualized support with our 6-month mentorship program and a collaborative hospital team environment.

VCA San Mateo Animal Hospital is centrally located in beautiful San Mateo. We are minutes away from a bustling downtown area filled with restaurants and unique boutique style shopping.  Easily accessible by two major highways and walking distance to the Cal Train station. Our hospital provides a unique opportunity to the right candidate.  We have state of the art digital radiographic equipment, digital dental x-ray imaging, and full in-house blood diagnostics. We also offer boarding.  The staff at VCA San Mateo consists of two full time RVT’s, three experienced veterinary assistants and three highly skilled receptionist.  We are primarily canine and feline practice but are open to seeing any furry, scaly, or feathered animal.  Our clientele is diverse and dedicated.  We strive to provide excellent patient care and providing our clients excellent service.

  

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday 8 am to 5 pm, closed on Sunday.  The work schedule would be 4 ten hour shifts with rotating Saturday. 

San Mateo is a busy, diverse city centrally located in the Bay Area.  We are fifteen miles north of San Francisco and 20 miles south of San Jose, California.  New developments both residential and commercial are popping up just about at every corner. Cost of living is comparable to the Bay Area.  Average household income is 125,000/year. Brand new condominium and apartment complexes are being built walking distance from the hospital.   Whether you like shopping, fine dining, strolling or jogging along beautiful waterfront trails, boating, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, you can have it all right here just minutes away from VCA San Mateo Animal Hospital.

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $66,560 - $200K. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.
