Key Activities

1.   General

•     Follow and lead fellow team members in safe work practices in pursuit of zero injuries. Actively participate in safety programs.
•     Perform electrical construction tasks including installation of conduit, wire tray, wire pulling, enclosures, transformers  and all electrical terminations per NEC Code.
•     Installation, configuration and troubleshooting  of photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches,  PLC input/output modules and all associated control wiring.
•     Configure, troubleshoot  and repair motors, motor control centers, variable
frequency drives and soft-starts up to 2300V.
•     Maintain and troubleshoot  position feedback devices, encoders,  load cells, hydraulic systems, natural gas burners and boiler control systems.
•      Installation, calibration and troubleshooting of pressure, level, flow, temperature,
consistency, conductivity, turbidity and pH transmitters.
•      Troubleshoot and maintain Honeywell QCS mechanical, electrical and software
systems.
•      Calibrate,  maintain and rebuild process valves, actuators and positioners.
•      Maintain all general plant lighting and facility electrical power distribution.
•       Proper use of test equipment, including meggers, oscilloscopes, motor analyzers,
manometers, signal generators, computers and specialized software.
•     Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks,  manlifts, scissor lifts and utility vehicles.
•     Use CMMS (JD Edwards) to create work orders, order parts, track man-hours and maintain equipment history.
•     Participates in all team activities and communicates to all other team members to ensure the success of the maintenance department.
•     Perform special or occasional duties as required, including assisting mechanical maintenance team members and special projects.
•      Provide On-Call coverage as directed by supervision .

2.   Optimization

•     Tuning  of process control loops  and machine  control systems.
•     Programming  and troubleshooting  of DCS,  PLC and HMI  interfaces.
•     Develop  DCS help displays and routines for ease of use to minimize downtime.
•       Perform  PM and PdM tasks,  using visual,  ultrasonic,  infrared,  static and dynamic motor analyser technologies.
•     Provide training  to operations and maintenance  crafts to enable self-sufficient
troubleshooting skills.

3.   Engineering

•     Perform  configuration  and logic modifications  to DCS and PLC control  systems.
Modifications  will include  programming  in ladder logic,  block logic.  sequential  logic and statement logic.
•     Design, configuration  and implementation of integrated  and stand-alone  graphic
human machine  interfaces.
•      Design and specification  of communication protocols,  including  Profibus,  serial  and industrial  Ethernet.
•     Assistwith systems  integration  for both hardware  and software solutions.
•     Specify,  design and construct  process control and 1/0  cabinets.
•     Create and modify schematic and layout drawings  using AutoCAD.
•     Specify  cabling and wire sizing for power and control wiring,  per NEC Code.
