Position Summary: Under the supervision of the department's management, the athletic trainer assumes responsibility and accountability for the process of evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, planning and implementation needed to deliver safe, evidence based care.
Responsibilities:
Collects client/athlete information, with ability to triage multiple injuries and athletes if needed. Develops, initiates and/or revises an individualized plan of care that includes short and long term goals for the athlete/client based on the evaluation’s objective tests and measurements. Carries out assessment and treatment techniques safely and in compliance with policy to facilitate achievement of expected goals; assesses athlete/client response to intervention based upon expected goals; and supervises support staff according to staff’s scope of practice. Documents treatment in an accurate and timely manner. Performs Athletic Training services to assigned schools, colleges, professional/amateur clubs or organizations. Coordinates athlete/client care activities and communicates with other members on the healthcare team. Uses interpersonal strategies with peers and other members of the healthcare team to promote effective team function and a sense of satisfaction by those involved. Facilitates system and institutional policies, procedures, and goals to evaluate impact on athlete/client outcome. Incorporates evidence based practice.Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.

Required:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university Athletic Training licensure with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts and may require additional state licensure based on population served BLS certification, AED and basic first aid training required or must complete with in the first two weeks of employment Additional certification may be required but not limited to a valid Kansas Commercial Drivers License with an acceptable driving record for certain patient care settings or populations. Specific information and the timeframe in which such certification must be attained will be provided by the department director/manager/supervisor at time of hire/transfer into department.Preferred:
