Automation Controls Technician

Hexcel is currently seeking an Automation Controls Technician for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Matrix location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

PLC control systems, programming, integration, installation, upgrade and troubleshooting including Rockwell and Allen Bradley platforms, Siemens, Parker, GE, SCR troubleshooting and programmingDistributed control system (DCS) programming including MMI developmentInitializing, modification, upgrade and troubleshooting of VFDsInstrumentation troubleshooting and diagnosis, set up, and some calibration support and training for electricians including ownership of calibration methodsSet-up & initialization of monitoring & control devicesInstrumentations and controls debugging and troubleshooting, controls projects under the guidance of engineering, troubleshoot electrical controls-related process issuesStart-up and qualification of control systems on new equipment and execute controls projects under the guidance of engineeringImplementation, set up, and troubleshooting of tension controls for web tensionSupport production uptime efforts and root cause determination of downtime eventsSupport training and development of staff electricians

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required (Technical Associates Degree, PLC certification preferred)Experience with industrial control systems (control instrumentation preferred)Must have proven experience in PLC logic and programming (Foxboro DCS, Allen-Bradley, Parker and/or Siemens preferred)Must have knowledge of electrical controls and be able to specify materials, codes and redline drawingsMust be able to clearly and accurately communicate verbally and in writing to various partiesAble to read electrical schematics preferred. Ability to create them in AutoCAD or other design software is desiredKnowledge of Industrial networking and Ethernet Protocols is a plus.Experience with motor control using VFDs preferred
