To prepare, bake and display product in the department in a careful, clean, neat, and expedient manner while ensuring that all product is fresh, rotated, and well-stocked for our customers while maintaining great customer service.

 

Pay for this position starts at $16.60 - $23.81 / hour.

Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age.Must demonstrate knowledge of baking techniques.Must be able to work as a team member and interact positively with customers.Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow instructions.Ability to work a schedule based on the business needs of the store location.Authorized to work within the U.S. Responsibilities

Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance.Commit to the “Golden Rule” and work with other associates to build a strong bakery team.Achieve the highest associate morale in the industry by working in a style that is Respectful, Supportive and Totally Team Oriented (RSTO).Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise. Check and verify receiving to ensure that items listed on vendor invoices are all delivered. Check products for quality, count, and condition.Keep all bakery ingredients or merchandise rotated in accordance with company policy and product code dates and always make use of the oldest products first (first in, first out).Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory control.Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.Take stock to storage or shelf areas.Prepare all baking mixtures in accordance with established company or department procedures and recipes.Pan up frozen products and pan and roll up bread.Load and unload over. Know the proper temperatures and duration to bake all varieties of products.Operate mixer and write on cakes/prepare product to meet customers specifications.Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations including full compliance with all applicable laws pertaining to safety, health and packaging requirements.Practice the “Cleaner’s Creed” and proper sanitation procedures.Maintain a neat, well groomed personal appearance at all times and observe company dress code, along with wearing approved hat or hair net.Keep display cases, cooler and freezer organized and clean, along with cleaning walls, fans, drains, equipment, utensils, and work tables. Wipe counter tops and front display cases. Exercise proper safety practices when lifting or moving product or using equipment.

Secondary Job Functions:

Restock and use supply items efficiently to eliminate waste and to maintain the lowest cost supply.Promote items on public address system.Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark downs or property defacement.Other duties as assigned by management.
