JOB REQUIREMENTS Education Associate Degree in Electronics Technology or Biomedical Engineering required. In lieu of Associate Degree, military electronics training program or intensive vendor training specializing in biomedical and/or scientific related equipment may be considered. Experience Employee must have at least 5-9 years experience as a service x-ay engineer or equivalent and possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job successfully. Working service and repair knowledge of various imaging equipment is preferred. Physical While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; bend; stoop; or kneel to complete troubleshooting and/or repairs of equipment. Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. Hearing within normal ranges including soft tones, oral communication, manual dexterity, hand-to-eye coordination and color vision are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Possible physical hazards include exposure to electrical shock, ionizing radiation, toxic or caustic chemicals and chemical fumes, high-pressure air, infectious disease and various other hazards associated with biomedical engineering work. JOB SUMMARY Employee performs several duties with diagnostic imaging equipment maintenance, to include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, calibration and quality control testing. The employee also installs, inspects, analyzes, calibrates and repairs on all types of patient care equipment. Employee must have working knowledge of computers, multimeter, oscilloscope, high voltage test equipment and a variety of other electronic test equipment. Employee works with minimal supervision and provides training and information for level 1 service engineers, biomedical technicians and other medical staff as needed. They will also be required to take on special projects and see them to completion.
