Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster I, II

*** This role for a Bodily Injury Adjuster for our Assigned Risk team in Uniondale, NY. Will be HYBRID reporting to the office location 1 time a week after training ***

Job Summary:

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for advanced automobile accidents.  Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority.

Key Responsibilities:

Handles investigation regarding all aspects of advanced auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with the exercise discretion and independence within increased level of authorityApplies advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and departmentDetermines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handleIdentifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skillsRecognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understanding other potential property damageFor claims involving injuries (if handled), learns how to review, evaluate, and negotiate basic to moderate injury claimsApplies increased experience in the Adjuster II level or a rotation into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Total Loss, Initial Handler, Extended Handler, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job does not have supervisory duties

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience2 or more years of related experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to obtain and maintain adjuster licenses as required

Functional Skills

Customer service orientationStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management skills from a global case management or pending perspective (vs. transactional)Strong problem solving and analytical skills; ability to detect differences and issue recognition from multiple sourcesProficient in Word and Outlook

The base range offered for the role is: $54,000 - $70,000 and may vary based on internal equity, and job-related skills, knowledge and experience; among other factors.
