Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for Building Maintenance Service Person – Electrician x 2.

 

Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site 

 

Reports to Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities: Primary role will be the Electrical repairs, troubleshooting, servicing, and installation of the HVAC Systems, Air Handling Units., Refrigeration Systems, Boilers, Furnaces, Commercial Kitchen Appliances, Lighting Circuits, Receptacles, and Heat Trace Provide maintenance services to all accommodation buildings, Office areas and Mill Concentrator areas. Where required, assist in the coordination of projects from conception thru to completion Perform general maintenance work including primary trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, dry walling, carpet and flooring, painting, snow removal, laundry equipment & systems, lock and key replacements, and associated building control systems. Perform renovations and remodels when required Respond to emergency calls, Power outages, leaks, spills and other urgent needs. Take immediate corrective action Basic repair of Satellite dish, Cable TV and sound systems Complete repair work of all facilities as directed Keep accurate records of Maintenance activities including work orders, repairs made and parts used or required Communicate effectively with other crew members and departments about assigned tasks and ensure carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as complies with safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards Ensure compliance with all established policies and standard operating procedures and advises coworkers of such policies and procedures as required Adhere to high safety standards Other related duties as assigned Qualifications: High a high school diploma or equivalent  Minimum of 7 years combined experience in Industrial Electrical Maintenance  Certified License in at least 1 discipline i.e., Electrical, HVAC, Refrigeration etc.  Proficient reading Electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and literature Ability to take a project from conception thru to completion with very minimal supervision.  Must be able to work day, afternoon, or night shifts as required, as well as on call if requested Must be a team player and able to communicate well with others Must be highly self-motivated Must have ability to perform tasks with limited direction and assistance Must be able to perform labor intensive work when required Must be able to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions About Teck
