Business Development Manager – Financial Services, Travel, and Emerging Verticals

The Business Development Manager will be part of Rakuten Advertising’s Sales team. Business Development Managers are accountable for exceeding assigned quotas by securing and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers.

Role Description:

As an experienced seller, the Business Development Manager will focus on new customer acquisition for Rakuten Advertising’s affiliate marketing and paid media channels in the Finance, Travel, and Technology verticals.  You will develop new relationships with C-suite, VP, and Director level contacts in the Marketing, Acquisition, and Digital teams of the top brands in industry and you will present solutions through consultative selling that enable our clients to acquire new customers and achieve their acquisition and growth goals.

Seek out and build relationships with industry contacts for new business opportunitiesArticulate Rakuten Advertising’s core values to C-suite, VP, Directors on your target listProduce a high volume of sales-related activity (prospecting, presentations, proposals)Represent Rakuten Advertising at trade shows, seminars and industry eventsFormulate and present strategic presentationsWork closely with internal team members during the RFP process to define a salesstrategy that meets client and Rakuten Advertising needsUnderstand our competitive landscape to effectively sell against competitors andposition Rakuten Advertising as the market leaderSell major new accounts in timely sales cycle while maintaining an active pipelineMeet and exceed all sales and revenue targetsExpect 25% business travel

Required Skills and Experience:

5 -10 years of successful sales experience in a consultative sales environmentExperience selling Affiliate Marketing Solutions or ad-tech solutions required. Experience selling to senior level marketing contacts at Financial Services and/or Travel brands preferred.Experience understanding complexities of SaaS contracts as it relates to the sales process is required.Proven record of generating new logo revenue and exceeding sales quotaUnderstanding of sales processes with sales training courses completed preferredExcellent presentation skills, ability to work across many internal teamsBachelor's Degree
