Job Summary

The position will manage the support teams responsible for the day-to-day operation of ourdatabase environments and business intelligence infrastructure. The environments areprimarily SQL Server, Teradata, Informatica and Tableau. The teams are a diverse group ofoffshore and onshore resources. They support the databases and associated infrastructure,Informatica and its set of complex ETLs, the Master Data Management system, visualizations
and metrics on Tableau, integrations such as SSIS and PowerShell scripting.

Your Key Job Functions

•Lead and manage the Database, Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Data WarehouseSupport teams.
• Expert level database troubleshooting skills
• Use ServiceNow to manage IT Requests, Incidents, Changes and Enhancement activity.
• Actively lead the BI Support Team to resolve issues in the BI space quickly, designsolutions, develop and implement process and/or technology improvements as well astrain new users, and ensure that projects are completed on time.
• Collaborate with architects to maintain relevant architecture processes and deliverables.
• Establish relationships with key business constituencies and serve as an advocate for BIand database deliverables across multiple departments and serve as a liaison betweenbusiness and other technical areas.
• Coach, mentor and train team members to establish a consistent level of quality,accuracy, accountability, and compliance of department standards.
• Able to work closely with architects and business users to understand informationrequirements, model business concepts, and implement data structures and reportingtools and solutions.
• Collaborate with leadership concerning the ongoing evolution of BI's software platformsand tools.
• Effectively develop and manage team resources in accordance with departmentalgoals/objectives, and within budget.
• Help with vendor analysis, selection and review when needed.
• Identify and monitor ongoing staffing needs to meet department objectives.
• Planning, designing, and implementing database structures that meet the organization'srequirements and support its business processes.
• Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect sensitive data fromunauthorized access, including user authentication, access controls, and encryption.
• Monitoring and optimizing database performance to ensure efficient operation and timelyresponse to user queries, including tuning SQL queries, optimizing indexes, andconfiguring hardware resources.
• Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrityand availability in case of system failures, disasters, or data corruption.
• Ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data stored in the databases byimplementing data validation rules, constraints, and quality checks.
• Performing regular maintenance tasks such as database reorganization, indexrebuilding, and software updates to keep the databases running smoothly and efficiently.
• Monitoring database usage and growth trends to forecast future capacity requirements and plan for scalability and resource allocation.
• Monitoring database performance metrics, resource usage, and system health toproactively identify and resolve issues before they impact operations and setting upalerts for critical events.
• Performing database upgrades and Service Pack installs.
• Documenting database schemas, configurations, and procedures to ensure clarity andfacilitate knowledge transfer among team members.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies related todata privacy, security, and governance.
• Leading and managing a team of database administrators, providing guidance,mentoring, and training to develop their skills and expertise.
• Familiarity with High Availability, Clustering technologies and group Listeners.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members.
• Provide 24x7x365 support to resolve all production issues and minimize business impactwithin SLA guidelines.
• Architect database solutions and provide guidance to BI Architects on their solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for processimprovements and drive down incident counts proactively.
• Utilize root cause analysis to continually enhance customer satisfaction while adheringto budgetary constraints.

What You Bring to the Team

•5 Years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server (2012/2016/2019/2022)
• Experience with Data Warehousing techniques.
• Experience with Informatica or other ETL tools.
• PMP certification a plus.
• Understanding and practical experience with understanding different styles of databasedesign (relational, dimensional, referential integrity, primary keys, foreign keys, indexes,etc.).
• Experience with Microsoft Master Data Services (MDS) a plus.
• Experience with application architecture.
• Coding skills in Standard SQL.
• Familiarity with standard change control procedures and documentation best practices fordata movement.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Enjoys learning new technologies.
• Be customer centric; listening, understanding and responding to customer needs whilebeing committed to the customer first philosophy, including both internal and externalcustomers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical issuesclearly.
• Ability to identify and eliminate low return tasks.
• Exhibit the ability to improvise, adapt, and overcome unforeseen obstacles to achievedesired results.
• Bachelor’s degree in a data-focused discipline, or the equivalent in skill and training.
