The general role of the Cable Installer Technician – Fiber Optics is to travel to residential homes for service calls.  This person must be reliable and organized to install equipment, inspect and troubleshoot cable equipment, and set up internet networks.  This position will provide written and verbal instructions to customers on how to operate systems, remote controls, and other equipment, as well as document all tasks performed at each service appointment.

 

The Installer Technician will report to the Project Manager – Fiber Optics and will work primarily out of their assigned location.  Current work locations include Altoona and Berwick, PA

Qualifications 1-2 years’ experience as a cable technician preferredValid driver’s license is required Strong knowledge of mathematics, science, and electrical systems preferredAbility to install complex internet and television equipment preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate and navigate various customer service situationsSkilled in interacting with clients/homeowners in a friendly and professional mannerProficient in independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fixing any problems that may ariseAbility to identify independent colors and learn color codesWillingness to train on company-specific technical equipmentAbility to work at heights on a ladderAbility to work under minimal supervisionProficient with utilizing mobile apps for work dutiesExperience operating small equipment preferred (i.e., forklift, bobcat, telehandler, skid steer, etc.)Leadership ability preferred

Working Conditions
