Calibration Technician

Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability for the mechanical calibration of inspection, measuring, and test equipment (IM&TE) at GA-ASI facilities. Perform routine and complex work related to the calibration and repair of IM&TE and standards. Calibrate a wide range of dimensional mechanical, electronics and electro-mechanical calibration IM&TE. Research metrology specifications and develop calibration procedures. Analyze and interpret calibration results and prepare records into Fluke Metcal software. Able to support internal/external audits of calibration program when required. Interface with calibration equipment manufacturers, suppliers, repair vendors, engineering, manufacturing and quality personnel.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Perform routine and complex work related to the calibration and repair of IM&TE and standards. Troubleshoot and repair general purpose IM&TE. Research metrology specifications and develop calibration procedures.
+ Calibrate a wide range of dimensional mechanical, electronics and electro-mechanical calibration IM&TE including: thread plug gages, torque wrenches crimpers, pressure gauges, scales, durometers, lasers, panel meters etc.
+ Analyze and interpret calibration results and prepare calibration records into Fluke MetTeam automated software as well as manual calibrations not within the capabilities of Fluke Software. Prepare calibration reports and certificates for electronics and great attention to detail is required.
+ Ability to provide recommendations for improving calibration processes
+ Able to support internal/external regulatory audits of calibration program when required.
+ Interface with calibration equipment manufacturers, suppliers, repair vendors, engineering, manufacturing and quality personnel and end users.
+ Troubleshoot and repair general purpose IM&TE
+ Provide great customer support to end users.
+ Experienced writing and/or modifying calibration procedures.
+ Other duties as required.

**Job Qualifications:**
+ Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency as well as six or more years progressively more complex experience in analyzing, testing, calibrating, adjusting, and maintaining electromechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro-mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
+ PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) certification a major plus
+ Must have a complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of testing, calibrating, adjusting, and maintaining electro-mechanical, mechanical, optical, pneumatic, hydro-mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments.
+ Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; determine the appropriate approach at the task level; and provide solutions to a range of difficult problems. Strong attention to details.
+ Must have good communication, documentation, interpersonal skills, and computer skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and able to work extended hours as required.
