Camp Blue Jay Coordinator
Johns Hopkins University Athletic Department is seeking a seasonal three-month **_Camp Blue Jay Coordinator_** for our youth camp. This annual camp serves youth and provides a safe and fun environment for children to gain skills, confidence, and lasting friendships. Applicants will work with the Director of Camp Blue Jay to plan and implement programs targeting all age groups associated with the camp. **Specific Duties & Responsibilities** + The position supervises up to 15 camp counselors during the summer. + Assists in developing and implementing recreational programming (indoor and outdoor) for Camp Blue Jay provided for children ages Kindergarten-6th grade. + Oversees day-to-day program operations at various recreational sites throughout the facility. + Engages in social media content, updating websites, and social media platforms as needed. + Works with department staff to manage a wide variety of program registration processes. + Helps to coordinate, supervise, and administer recreation programs for the camp, including scheduling, developing, and implementing work objectives supporting established short/long-term goals. + Assists in training, and supervising staff along with maintaining work schedules. + Collaborates with the director in the establishment and implementation of program rules, policies, and procedures including but not limited to emergency action procedures and employee handbooks. + Other duties as assigned. **Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities** + Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills. + Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. + Focus on attention to detail. _Additional Information_ + As part of the Camp Blue Jay Coordinator responsibilities, the incumbent will follow the state and federal regulations and guidelines associated with camps, safety procedures, and working with minors. **Minimum Qualifications** + High School Diploma/ GED. + Six months of related experience. + First Aid, CPR, and AED Certifications are required. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree or higher. + Demonstrated successful supervisory and management experience. + Certified Parks & Recreation Professional certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. + Certified Youth Sports Administrator, or able to obtain within 2 years of hire.
