Job Overview:

Administers individualized, professional patient care through efficient knowledge and safe practice of ICVL lab procedures. This role requires the conducting of cardiac testing on patients, 2D Echocardiogram, M-Mode color Doppler. In addition, stress tests include nuclear stress, stress echocardiograms and cardiopulmonary stress tests.

Qualifications:

Required:

Successful completion of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology program with emphasis on echocardiographyMinimum of 15 echo-related CMEs required per three-year period as required by ICAEL standardsPrevious experience to perform all modalities of cardiac non-invasive testing is preferredMaintains RDCS/RCS certification requirementsAdditional Certifications may be requiredAdditional experience/ training may be required based on departmental-specific needs.

Current BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider CertificationCurrent ACLS certification

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

Department is open 7am-5pm Rotating weekend scheduleCoverage for vacation, sick, and based on work volumeNo on call requirementAvailability to work at least two days a week strongly preferred

Essential Functions:

Assumes responsibility for patient preparation, care, and monitoring before, during, and after procedures. Participates in quality improvement programs and inventory control. Use an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care.Assists the physician during the performance of the diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
