St. Mary's Health System Position Title: Exercise Physiologist II Position Title Specification: Cardiac Rehab Department (s): 72910 CARDIAC REHABILITATIONS Summary: To implement Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation programming with Cardiac Rehab Phase II and Phase III patients, providing education and exercise training. This includes one on one teaching with patients, group exercise, promoting the safety and health of participants, effective communication and coordination of the program with the RNs and RT on the Team, as well as the Medical Directors. Scope of Service: Adult patients (16 and older) with the diagnosis of : - Myocardial infarction (heart attack) - Angina (chest discomfort) - Heart bypass, valve surgery, or transplantation - Angioplasty - CHF (congestive heart failure) - Risk factor modification Cardiac Rehab Phases provided: Phase II in the outpatient recovery phase. (3-6 months, with some ECG monitoring ). Phase III is the improvement, conditioning phase . (3-6 months, with some ECG monitoring). The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program consists of exercising two to three times a week for one hour per session. Morning and afternoon classes are offered. Weekly educational classes are available. Staff includes registered nurses, and exercise specialist , and a cardiologist . Direct access is available to dietitians, social workers, pharmacists , and other related specialties that pertain to your recovery as a heart patient.
