Inova Fairfax Medical Center Echo Lab is an advanced echo imagining center with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, education, innovation and research. Our lab is nationally accredited through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission and is comprised of over 20 sonographers and 25 physicians who support our award-winning clinical programs and hospital. As a Lead Cardiovascular Sonographer, you will be responsible for the following:

Demonstrate and promote Inova’s culture Demonstrate advanced skills in echocardiography with experience in Strain, 3D, Stress Echoes and diagnostic and structural heart TEEs Participates, takes leadership role and collaborates with the Medical and Clinical Director, in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality Provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to sonographers with the support of the Echo Lab Supervisor Assist with the Inova Cardiology Fellowship and Student Program Lead and facilitate QI meetings, education, and training Assist IAC Technical Director in accreditation

REQUIREMENTS 

Certification - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer AARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification or CCI Registered with Certification for Vascular. BLS, RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS Upon Start; Basic Life Support Upon Start 

Licensure - None required

Experience - Five years' experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography.

Education - Other Sonography Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical setting sonography or five years of specialized training
