Essential Duties/ Responsibilities

Duties vary per client, and their specific needs. The following duties may be assigned in the plan of care:

Daily routine care (feeding, grooming and bathing)Light shoppingLight housekeepingConversing with the client to provide assuranceMeal preparation and clean upReporting any incidents, complaints, and/or concerns to the agency immediately Other responsibilities as assigned  

Required Education/ Experience

High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of experience with seniors in a home setting preferredEnglish proficiency and excellent communication skillsAbility to work independently in the fieldAbility to work with different personality types in a professional mannerThree references requiredProof of clear TB/PPD test taken within the last yearMust be able to pass a background checkCNA, HHA, and BLS/CPR certifications a plus

Physical demands may include but are not limited to:

Some clients will require activity that can described as medium to moderately heavy. Recurrent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching could be mandatory.

Work Environment

Direct Care Workers work out of the client’s home.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.
