Position Overview

Reporting to Clinic Management, the CASAC will be responsible for facilitating individual and group substance use therapy as well as completing intakes, assessments, session notes, treatment plans and discharges. The CASAC will be an integral part of the interdisciplinary team servicing individuals at the Article 31 Outpatient Clinic with substance use and co-occurring disorders. This position requires strong organizational skills with a focus on efficiency, time management and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.  The position may require provision of services in the community and outside of normal business hours. This is currently a 2 year position, with potential to be continued based on success of the demonstration.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

Facilitate individual and group sessions for substance use/ mental health/ co-occurring disorders/ medication management/ and other outlying subjects related to this populationWork with clients to improve life choices and maximize benefits of program.Assist social workers build, coordinate and lead programs supporting individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders.Provide crisis intervention services for family members and individuals served.Provide family counseling and education.Ability to utilize the 12 step, self-help recovery services, harm reduction, motivational interviewing and other models/approaches as needed.Display sensitivity to cultural and linguistically needs of clients and family served.Participates in various multidisciplinary team meetings as neededAttends weekly supervision with Clinic Director and follow through on any directives.Completes notes, treatment plans and discharge planning in a timely manner.Conduct intakes, admission screening and assessments to referred clients.Participate in comprehensive service planning for each assigned client in collaboration with other agencies.Collaboratively develop individualize recovery plans and monthly updates for each individualEnforce policies, procedures, rules and regulations at all times in a consistent manner and in keeping with their intent regarding the delivery of services to the residents in care.Identify and assess clients at risk and provide crisis intervention for individuals as needed.Adhere to the organizations Code of EthicsSupervise toxicology as needed.Maintain up-to-date information/ reports in electronic medical records system. Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications

CASAC license by the Office of Professions.Bachelors or Masters in related field of study.Three years’ experience working with substance use population.Demonstrates organizational and communication skills which would enable effective interaction with fellow team members, individuals/clients/families and the community.Critical thinking and sound judgment skills are necessary.Experience with serving forensic population and working within legal systems.Knowledge of community based services for referral and collateral coordination.Comprehensive knowledge of community resources for addiction treatment.
