The nurse will collaborate with parents, guardians, administration team, and Director Developmental Disability Services to provide the optimum environment for all guests of Casey's Place. The part-time position is scheduled in a manner to best meet the medical needs of the program.   Responsibilities: + + + + Help oversee primary health care for individuals in the program + Semi-annual/annual updating and revising medication orders and other medical information (i.e. diagnosis information sheets, PONS (plan of nursing care), medical consent forms, etc.) + Attend monthly staff meetings + On-call for rotating weeks + Provide emergency assistance when on-call + Maintain a current and ongoing knowledge of pediatric health issues and practices through medical literature, in-services, workshops, etc. + Provide training for Direct Support Professionals, as needed + Develop and maintain collaborative and resourceful internal and external communications + Other duties as assigned Qualifications + Registered Nurse (New York State license/ registration) + Have malpractice insurance + Have a Provider ID and NPI for Emedny + Valid NYS Driver's License Essential Job Qualifications: + Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without assistance + Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time + Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion
