We are currently seeking a Category Manager – Electrical Systems to join our Procurement Organization. The Procurement Category Manager will work cross functionally within Navistar interfacing with engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, aftersales, and supply chain. As Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing the category sourcing strategy, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating agreements.

The Category Manager’s key activities include leading strategic sourcing activities, supplier contract negotiations, executing commercial agreements, identifying cost reduction opportunities, and overall supplier performance management.

Responsibilities Develop and execute category strategies to align with Navistar’s business objectivesLead strategic sourcing decisions and supplier selection for new product launches as well as current business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunitiesAnalyze category spend to identify and develop savings opportunities using a variety of procurement levers including competitive bidding, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, supply chain/footprint optimization, target costing, etc.Research industry trends, global markets, benchmark data, and understand underlying cost driversNegotiate with suppliers to achieve best overall total cost of ownershipExecute legal agreements such as Comprehensive Supply Agreements and Development AgreementsBuild strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure product quality, on time delivery, and service meet or exceed expectations Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degreeAt least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience1 year lead experience

Master's degreeAt least 6 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience1 year lead experience

OR

At least 10 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience1 year lead experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
